TOKEN2049 Dubai, planned for April 29-30, 2026, is postponed to April 21-22, 2027. What the organizer said, and what ticket holders and sponsors do next.
Dubai — TOKEN2049 has postponed its Dubai conference, which was due to open on April 29 and 30, 2026 at Madinat Jumeirah, to April 21 and 22, 2027. The organizer announced the move on March 13, less than seven weeks before doors, citing uncertainty in the region and its effect on safety, international travel and logistics. For the companies that had booked tickets, booths, flights and side events around the last week of April, the Dubai plan now shifts by a full year.

What TOKEN2049 announced on March 13
The organizer's statement says the decision was made with its partners and stakeholders, "in light of the ongoing uncertainty in the region and its impact on safety, international travel and logistics." It adds that preparations were progressing strongly, and that postponing was preferable to running a smaller event than the one attendees expect.
The statement is explicit that the event is postponed, not cancelled. It also restates the organizer's confidence in Dubai as a hub for digital assets and thanks the city's regulators and government partners.
Press coverage placed the decision in the context of the regional security situation. The Block reported Iranian missile and drone strikes affecting Dubai International Airport and the financial district, along with widespread airspace closures. The organizer's own announcement does not describe those events.
What the TOKEN2049 Dubai postponement means for ticket holders and sponsors
Ticket holders do not need to do anything. Every registered ticket stays valid for the edition now listed on our TOKEN2049 Dubai 2027 page. Anyone who would rather attend this year can ask to move the ticket to Singapore through the organizer's ticket transfer form, using the ticket email and ticket number.
The announcement does not set out a refund policy. Questions about tickets, sponsorships and transfers go to info@token2049.com.
For sponsors and exhibitors, the organizer says commitments will be carried forward and that its team is contacting partners directly to coordinate next steps.
What else moved on the Dubai calendar
TOKEN2049 was not the first to pull back. A day earlier, The Open Network cancelled Gateway Dubai, which had been planned for May 1 and 2, and said it would look at an alternative format later in the year, according to crypto.news.
Within the TOKEN2049 series, the change leaves one event in 2026. TOKEN2049 Singapore is confirmed for October 7 and 8 at Marina Bay Sands, and the organizer describes it as the next gathering of its global community.
What to do now
- Ticket holders: decide between April 2027 in Dubai and October 2026 in Singapore. Staying with Dubai needs no action; moving to Singapore needs the transfer form.
- Sponsors and exhibitors: wait for the organizer's outreach, or contact its sponsorship team with questions.
- Travelers: the organizer recommends contacting airlines and hotels directly to change bookings made for late April.
